The world is becoming smaller in terms of communication, engagement and connection. Local business has become global, and more people are utilizing the Internet to learn, grow, gain customers, connect with more people and become better known. Small businesses in the United States face a larger competitive field and a larger market. Businesses must be prepared to navigate distance with problem-solving skills, ability to work in teams, decision-making and communication online.
We are a decade and a half into the 21st century and there still is a gap between doing business online, satisfying clients and teaching people. In many ways, businesses are not prepared to work with clients from a distance, utilize social media or run teleseminars.
Business owners do not know how to effectively interact with and engage people online.
Online teaching and learning flattens the playing field for people. Businesses can thrive online without regard to medical issues, demographics, geography or time. Online education speaks directly to learning differences in people, allowing better retention, interest and motivation from clients. The Internet enables people to build networks with others and learn more about the world in which they live. It is a boon to small business.
